Utilizing the latest in low pressure plasma technology, an invisible protective coating (about 1/1000th of the thickness of a human hair) is applied on and in smartphones and tablets. The process first developed in 1998 creates a permanent coating to protect phones from water damage and oxidation.
Used today on consumer electronics, textiles, and medical and automotive applications, the coatings provide permanent water repellent (hydrophobic) properties to the coated surface. Deployed throughout Europe and Asia, this machine is the first Euoplasma unit deployed in the United States for consumer electronics.
Phones Plus has branded the process "REPEL", and is treating all smartphones and tablets sold in their 15 stores in Oregon, Washington and Idaho.
Established in 1990, Phones Plus will soon open their 16th Verizon Wireless store in Coos Bay, Oregon.
